Locate your own earthquake

Try your hand at locating earthquakes in New Zealand . There are two ways to do it. You can either download a programme onto your PC and do it off-line (WinQuake) or do it on-line with NZ Interactive EQ.

WinQuake (Off-line) - a programme from the Public Seismic Network to view and analyse seismograms on your PC. Click here for full instructions on how to download and run it.

NZ Interactive EQ (On-line) - this is Tim Harper's (Mt.Aspiring College) programme. It requires that you run Microsoft Internet Explorer and Active X. See your computer administrator about this if you don't know. Click here to go to Tim's site.
